הֵיכִי דִּשְׁתַלוּ לִי אֲבָהָתִי – שְׁתַלִי נָמֵי לִבְרָאִי

Just as my ancestors planted for me, I too am planting for my descendants. (Talmud Taanit 23a)

We know that it is “Aleinu” — our duty — to carry on the work of previous generations and pave the pathways for those to come. While no youth safeguarding plan is perfect, regularly reviewing your efforts, listening to feedback, and revising makes it stronger. In routinely updating your safeguarding efforts, you work to ensure that what you have planted will be seen to fruition. This Best Practice outlines an annual review which will help you regularly gauge the level of youth safety in your organization, track your progress from year to year, remain current with standards in youth safeguarding, and generate support for your efforts towards continuous improvement.
